A Cat on the Case is the third book in Clea Simon’s Witch Cats of Cambridge series, and like the other books in the series, the combination of mystery with a touch of the paranormal is irresistible.

Protagonist Becca, a fledgling witch detective and employee at New Age shop Charm and Cherish, can’t resist helping a panicked stranger who shows up at the store and leaves her heirloom violin behind. The search for the instrument’s owner leads Becca into a complicated case of theft, fraud and other crimes. On top of that, she is in danger of losing her apartment when her building goes condo.

In addition to the fast paced story, Clea’s trademark descriptive writing style always makes reading anything she writes delightful. She excels at writing both human and feline characters that you just can’t help but fall in love with. The three cats are wonderful, each with a very distinct and unique personality, and each lending her own special gifts to helping Becca solve the case while trying to keep her safe.

A Cat on the Case is the purrfect escape read for these trying times. If you enjoy feline-centric mysteries, fantasy, and a touch of magic, you will love this book. It can be read as a standalone, but why not treat yourself to the whole series?
