Free pet care is something we’re often asked about. Fortunately, we’ve found help with free veterinary care, free pet food and even free pet boarding all over the United States!

I’m Nicole from Low Income Relief, where we help millions of people save money and get free stuff every year.

I’m frequently asked about free pet care resources and I know how important those precious furbabies are. Melody recently completed our series on free pet care across the United States and we now have low income resources in all 50 states!

VETERINARY CARE GRANTS

We’ve found more than two dozen nationwide veterinary care grants that offer assistance to low income pet owners. I will review a few of them in this video, but for the full list you will need to visit LowIncomeRelief.com/pets.

The AVMF Veterinary Care Charitable Fund program provides help to low income pet owners through their veterinarians. In order to receive funds from this program, you must work with an AVMA-member veterinarian who is enrolled in the VCCF program. The veterinarian can apply for assistance to help with veterinary expenses for low income senior citizens, disabled veterans who need a service dog, victims of domestic violence and those who rescue animals.

Frankie’s Friends provides grants of up to $1,500 per pet to assist with lifesaving emergency or specialty veterinary care treatment. In order to be eligible, you must be unable to afford the full cost of treatment on your own. You will need to provide documentation from your veterinarian that includes a cost estimate, clear diagnosis, a specific treatment plan and a good prognosis for recovery.

Paws 4 A Cure provides up to $500 for assistance with illnesses and injuries. They can assist with medication, insulin, Heartworm positive treatment and medical equipment such as wheelchairs. They do not provide assistance with routine care, vaccinations, spay/neuter services, flea/tick treatments, dental care or euthanasia.

These are just three of the dozens of grant programs we’ve found, so if you’re looking for veterinary care grants then I encourage you to visit our website for more information.

OTHER SERVICES

While you’re visiting our free veterinary care services list, you’ll also find other helpful pet care resources, including:
Spay and Neuter services
Low cost pet vaccination clinics
Free pet food banks
Free pet boarding services
And more!

Of course, all of these services vary by state and not all services are available in all areas.

For example, free pet boarding services are extremely limited. In some areas, like Tempe, Arizona, up to 90 days of free pet boarding may be provided to pets whose guardians are facing a temporary hardship such as homelessness, illness, eviction, domestic violence, etc. However, we were not able to locate services like this in all areas.

That’s why it’s critically important to visit our website to discover what free pet care services are available in your area.
