The morning routine for the shelter dogs

Veterinary medicine news
Midwife Luke has a helper with Lucy through the night. Lucy is enjoying her morning breaks and there’s a mob of kangaroos off in the distance.

The shelter pack have progressed further. Now that they’re doing everything together their progress will be a lot quicker. Still so much work but we’re really proud of each one of them.

I think they might possibly miss each other when they find their forever homes, what once was aggression towards each other through cages has now developed and will continue to develop into normal healthy dog friendships.

Lots of training on the schedule today after breakfast.

Big days ahead of us, but it’s all very worthwhile for these dogs. We can already see a lot of the anti social behaviours wash away and their true personalities emerge. Hoping to focus more on that in the coming days once we get some of this necessary training out of the way and we see them relax even more.

It was suggested after yesterday’s video that we put a disclaimer on these videos that you shouldn’t try it at home. This is true. Not that you can’t use some of the training tips yourself with your own dog or in the dog park. But having more than one unsocialised and untrained reactive dog together should really be done with the help of an experienced trainer in this area. There’s a lot of lead up to this and a lot management from experience that is happening at the time.

P.S Some people have asked about the puppies weight with feeding. Someone kindly suggested we weigh them each day, which is a great idea so that we all have peace of mind. We can happily report all puppies including the tiny one is putting on more than the recommended 10-15% of their birth weight per day thus far. Well done Mumma Lucy … and midwife Luke ?

Thank you everyone for your support.
